The Dark Wood, by Sydney Mann

I don't even know where to start with this. The story flows at just the right pace, you get to know the character's and their thought and dilemmas steadily without it being shoved down your throat. You really get to know the characters, the dialogue flows effortlessly. The plot's engaging, and the author doesn't tease the reader with forbidden knowlege. On another level, even if the story was terrible, I still would have finished it because of how beautifully the words were laid down. I wish I could give this six stars!

Hot Blooded Hunter, by Katie Lewis

So, I know the author's sellingthis as a romance novel, but it's primarily a vampire hunter story, that happened to have romance in it. The author puts you in the room for the terror, action, and emotions that the characters go through. The story is gripping, the character development is great, and the tension it builds is almost unbearable but in a good way. I'll be buying the sequel the DAY it comes out!

The Wanderer Chronicles; Volume One, by Peter D. Richardson

This is a real quick read, but it's worth it! The author does a great job making the reader care about the people in this post-apocalyptic tale, to the point where I cared more about the side characters because the main character cared more about them than he did himself. It's appropriately gruesome for the genre, and it's not overdone, and while there wasn't a twist ending, I wasn't about to accurately predict what was going to happen at the end.
I will more than likely be getting Volume II when it's released.

To Save a World, Hollis Jo McCollum

I’m usually more of a SciFi person as opposed to Fantasy, but I really enjoyed this book. The tale is told from the point of view of elves, which from what I’ve read is uncommon and I think the author pulled it off well. More than once the story turned in a direction I wasn’t expecting, and it kept me on my toes. I just wish I waited until the semester was over to start reading it so I didn’t have to keep putting it down to study! And I WILL be reading Hollis’s next novel whenever it gets published.
